As a core public cultural landmark in Shenzhen, Shenzhen KA Art Museum covers a total construction area of 29,730 square meters, including 9 major exhibition areas, an academic lecture hall, a collection storage room, and underground supporting facilities. It hosts large-scale cultural events such as the Shenzhen International Watercolor Biennale annually. To meet the venue’s diverse electricity usage scenarios and high reliability requirements, we have tailored a full-chain power supply solution to build a safe and stable energy foundation for cultural and artistic activities.

II. Project Challenges

  1. Complex and Variable LoadsCoexistence of multiple scenarios such as exhibition lighting, constant-temperature collection storage rooms, and large-scale event equipment leads to significant load fluctuations. Precious exhibits and precision equipment require uninterrupted power supply.
  2. Strict Safety StandardsAs a crowded public building, it must comply with fire emergency response and fire linkage specifications to prevent risks to personnel and artworks from electrical faults.
  3. Limited Spatial LayoutThe compact structure with 4 above-ground floors and 4 underground floors imposes refined space utilization requirements for power distribution room location and equipment arrangement.
  4. Green Energy-Saving RequirementsIt is necessary to balance power supply quality and energy consumption optimization, and fulfill the social responsibility of sustainable operation of public cultural buildings.

III. Customized Solutions

  1. Triple Power Supply Guarantee with 0.5-Second Seamless SwitchingAdopt a triple architecture of “10kV dual-circuit dedicated line + 400KW diesel generator + emergency power supply”: Two independent 10kV dedicated lines form a high-voltage single-bus section wiring, enabling the other line to quickly take over the load when one line fails; combined with EPS emergency power supply (supporting evacuation lighting for 30-90 minutes) and UPS uninterruptible power supply (exclusively serving security and exhibition halls), seamless switching within 0.5 seconds is achieved, completely eliminating the risk of power outage.
  2. Precise Zoned Power Distribution to Adapt to Diverse Scenarios
  • Primary load guarantee: Fire protection systems, fire elevators, etc., adopt dual-circuit power supply to ensure stable operation even in extreme conditions;
  • Intelligent lighting control: Exhibition hall lighting can switch modes according to exhibition themes and time periods, balancing artistic presentation and energy saving;
  • Safe power distribution for storage rooms: Power switches of collection storage rooms are concentrated outside the storage area, equipped with leakage protection, and optimized lines to prevent electromagnetic interference;
  • Reserved expansion space: 3 sets of 1000kVA dry-type transformers (total capacity 3000kVA) with a load rate controlled at 70%-80% to meet future expansion needs.

Intelligent Operation and Maintenance + Comprehensive ProtectionThe power distribution room is equipped with a microcomputer integrated monitoring system to realize real-time monitoring of equipment status and fault alarm, supporting unattended operation and greatly improving operation and maintenance efficiency; establish a three-dimensional multi-level lightning protection and grounding system, optimize insulation design, and avoid electrical safety risks from the source.
  2. BIM-Optimized Layout to Improve Space EfficiencyCombined with the architectural structure characteristics, the main power distribution room is located in the core area of the basement. BIM technology is used to simulate equipment arrangement and line routing, realizing the reasonable layout of transformers, switchgear and other equipment in limited space, balancing construction convenience, operation and maintenance accessibility and space utilization rate without affecting the normal use of the venue.
